2022 Carnaval des Couleurs moves its star-studded line-up to the famous Quartier des Spectacles

After a 2021 edition held at Place Émilie-Gamelin in a context of strict sanitary measures, the Carnaval des Couleurs of Montreal, 2022 edition, is breaking out of its usual model and is having a blast by settling for the first time in the Quartier des spectacles, from October 7 to 9, on a major outdoor stage at the new Esplanade Tranquille at the corner of Clark and Ste-Catherine streets in downtown Montreal.

The BBCM Foundation unveils the line-up for the Black & Blue Festival 2022

The 31st edition of the internationally acclaimed "BLACK & BLUE" LGBTQ+ Festival will be held during the weekend of Canadian Thanksgiving and American Columbus Day, from October 6 to 10. "After the postponement of the 2020 and 2021 editions due to the health constraints imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic, the conditions are now in place for the return of Black & Blue this year with great enthusiasm, because we will present the main event of the Festival in a truly unique spectacular venue for us, with a very innovative concept", indicated the President of the BBCM Foundation, Robert J. Vezina.
The main event will be presented for the very first time under the theme "Black & Blue 360°" at La TOHU, Montreal’s Circus Arts City, on Sunday October 9, from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m. Monday morning. For its return after two years of absence, the 2022 Black & Blue will offer a multidisciplinary circular concept with a central 360° stage in an immersive 360° hall with electronic music by guest DJs and multiple performances, under the artistic direction of Louis Guillemette, an artist, designer and teacher at the National Circus School with many achievements to his credit…

Canada’s first Federal 2SLGBTQI+ Action Plan to continue building a more inclusive future

No matter who you are or who you love, you should have every opportunity to succeed in Canada. The Government of Canada has taken historic action in recent years to build a better, more inclusive future for Two-Spirit, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, and additional sexually and gender diverse people (2SLGBTQI+), and we know there is more to be done.
The Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, joined by the Minister for Women and Gender Equality and Youth, Marci Ien, today launched Canada’s first Federal 2SLGBTQI+ Action Plan… Building our future, with pride, a whole-of-government approach to achieve a future where everyone in Canada is truly free to be who they are and love who they love.
The Action Plan will:
Prioritize and sustain 2SLGBTQI+ community action by supporting 2SLGBTQI+ community organizations in advocating for and serving the communities they represent;
Continue to advance and strengthen 2SLGBTQI+ rights at home and abroad including by building on the criminalization of conversion therapy and launching consultations on additional criminal law reforms, as well as continuing to invest in projects abroad through Canada’s Feminist International Assistance Policy;
Support Indigenous 2SLGBTQI+ resilience and resurgence including by continuing to fund Indigenous 2SLGBTQI+ community organizations, placing the "2S" to represent Two-Spirit people at the front of the 2SLGBTQI+ acronym, and creating…

Government of Canada Strengthens Access to Sexual and Reproductive Health Services for Youth

The Government of Canada firmly believes that everyone should have access to safe and consistent sexual and reproductive health services. To do so, we are committed to removing barriers to access that continue to exist from coast to coast to coast.
The Government of Canada recognizes the importance of improving accessibility and promoting inclusion for everyone in Canada, including youth. Today, the Honourable Jean-Yves Duclos, Minister of Health, announced more than $2.8 million in funding from the Sexual and Reproductive Health Fund for projects by the Centre for Sexuality, and the Sex Information and Education Council of Canada (SIECCAN). These projects will improve access to sexual and reproductive health services and resources for people in Canada who face the greatest barriers to access, more specifically youth, persons with disabilities, and Indigenous peoples.
