WorkPride 2024 to Celebrate myGwork’s 10th Anniversary with Free Allyship Course

myGwork, the largest global LGBTQ+ business platform, will offer complimentary access to its award-winning allyship course to the first500 sign-ups to this year’s WorkPride Conference.

It Gets Better Announces Publication of Queerbook, Follow Up to Its 2011 Best Seller

It Gets Better, the world’s largest effort to empower LGBTQ+ youth, today announced the release of its first book in nearly 13 years. Queerbook is a collection of short stories, artwork, poetry, photography, essays, and more — created and curated entirely by LGBTQ+ youth. The organization previously released the 2011 New York Times bestseller It Gets Better: Coming Out, Overcoming Bullying, and Creating a Life Worth Living. A limited run of Queerbook is now available exclusively through It Gets Better’s website, ItGetsBetter.org/shop/.
Whereas It Gets Better’s previous book release primarily featured adults sharing messages of support with LGBTQ+ teens, Queerbook is entirely "for queer youth, by queer youth" and was even curated and edited by the organization’s Youth Voices — 10 LGBTQ+ student ambassadors from across the country.

Survey of LGBTQ+ Young People Shows High Rates of Suicide Risk, Harmful Impacts of Anti-LGBTQ+

Lower rates of attempting suicide reported by those who had access to affirming spaces and communities
The Trevor Project, the leading suicide prevention and crisis intervention organization for LGBTQ+ young people, released The 2024 U.S. National Survey on the Mental Health of LGBTQ+ Young People, representing the experiences of more than 18,000 LGBTQ+ young people ages 13 to 24 across the United States. The survey’s findings underscore that LGBTQ+ young people continue to report high rates of mental health challenges, suicide risk, and associated experiences of anti-LGBTQ+ victimization such as bullying, discrimination, threats of physical violence, and conversion therapy.
The survey also includes data on ways to support LGBTQ+ young people, and highlights the association between lower odds of suicide risk and access to LGBTQ+-affirming spaces and experiences, such as affirming homes, schools, and communities, as well as…
